Each week during the 2013 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly division competitors at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson International Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.
Each week’s winner will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. Drivers must have a Sunoco Race Fuel decal on their car to be eligible for the weekly award.
Before April 26, Troy Talman had never even driven on the half-mile oval at Stafford Motor Speedway.
Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway showed he’s quickly found the fast way around the place.
Talman was fourth in his Stafford Motor Speedway SK Light Modified division debut on April 27 and in just his second event at the track, Talman was victorious.
The 18-year old from Oxford, Mass. came out on top of a late race duel with Tony Membrino Jr. to record his first career Stafford victory.
