Sources: Jack Bateman Set To Give Up Control Of Granite State Pro Stock Series To Mike Parks

As the wheel turns …

Granite State Pro Stock Series Logo PaperOn Friday, Granite State Pro Stock Series owner Jack Bateman said he was ready to move forward operating the series and he would do so without Mike Parks running it.

Parks announced that day that he was ready to start his own series to rival the Granite State Pro Stock Series.

Today it seems the whole situation has taken another dramatic turn.

Multiple sources close to the Granite State Pro Stock Series have confirmed that Bateman, who also is the owner and founder of the Valenti Modified Racing Series, and Parks have come to an agreement and that Parks will take over ownership of the Granite State Pro Stock Series in 2014.

Neither Bateman or Parks were immediately available for comment Sunday evening.

The Granite State Pro Stock Series recently completed its second season. It was a division envisioned by late Valenti Modified Racing Series race director John Hoyt and Parks.

On Friday Bateman said a disagreement that stemmed from issues that arose at the season ending event at Thompson Speedway the weekend of Oct 18-20 led him to break his ties with Parks. Bateman said he told Parks last week that the two should go their separate ways.

Also on Friday, Parks put out a confusing press release stating essentially that he was taking over control of the Granite State Pro Stock Series. Later in the day Parks revealed that he was actually ready to start a new series called the New England Super Late Model Series.

Bateman said Friday he would continue to run the Granite State Pro Stock Series no matter what Parks’ intentions were in trying to operate another series.
