The Daily Grind: Mini Stock Tour Added To Thompson Event; Kyle James Hosting Bowling Event And More

What’s the one event locally that can never have too many divisions?

Daily Grind 300 BoxThat would be the World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway, and it seems 15 features wasn’t enough for the track for 2014.

Officials from the Northeast Mini Stock Tour announced Wednesday that the division has been added to the schedule for the 2014 World Series at Thompson.

It brings the total number of features for the Oct. 17-19 event to 16.

— Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified division driver Kyle James will host the fourth Kyle James Racing Bowl-A-Thon Saturday at Alley Katz in Westerly R.I.

— Are you so bored waiting for racing to start locally that you’ll take even the cyber type to satisfy your fix?

Then head on over to the Web Racing Network on Monday at 8:30 p.m. to view the running of the Sid’s View 200, part of the New England Chill Winter Heat Series.

A number of well known local drivers and crew members are expected to be on the entry list for the event.

— Newtown native Stephen Kopcik, who spent the last two years competing in Legends cars, will be part of the 2014 rookie class in the SK Light Modified division at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Kopcik will compete in newly acquired Chassis Dynamics ride previously piloted by Ryan Preece.
