Bonsignore passed Eric Goodale with just over two laps remaining to win the Tour Type Modified division Richie Evans Memorial 100 at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Friday at New Smyrna Speedway.

It was the sixth and final race of the week at New Smyrna for the division. It marked the second victory in as many nights for Bonsignore, who won Thursday’s 35-lap event at New Smyrna.

Behind Bonsignore, Silk, finished third to close out a heated week of racing at New Smyrna for the Norwalk driver.

Silk finished the week with the three wins in six events. He won the first two events of the week. In the third event on Sunday he sustained a cut tire while leading the race. He rallied for a second place finish on the track behind winner Eric Goodale, but was later disqualified for an issue with a tire in post race inspection.

He came back to win the John Blewett Memorial 76 on Wednesday night and he finished third behind Bonsignore on Thursday. Silk came into the event two points behind Ryan Preece in the standings after five of six events. Preece, of Berlin, finished eighth Friday.

According to The Chrome Horn, Bonsignore, of Holtsville, N.Y., went by Silk for second on lap 89 and then used the high lane to go by Goodale for the lead on lap 98. Goodale, of Riverhead, N.Y., finished second.
