New Hampshire Motor Speedway will be the home of champions June 3 and 4.

Champions galore will be represented when cars hit the track for a June 3-4 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series test session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The drivers of Hendrick Motorsports and Ganassi Racing will take part in the test session. The lineup includes six-time Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, four-time Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon, reigning Daytona 500 champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne from Hendrick Motorsports. Ganassi brings former Daytona 500 champion Jamie McMurray and rookie sensation Kyle Larson.

“The sun is out, things are greening up and Sprint Cup cars are ready to return to the Magic Mile,” New Hampshire Motor Speedway executive vice president and general manager Jerry Gappens said in a release. “I’m really looking forward to stepping out of my office and walking over to watch this test session. You’ve got arguably four of the biggest names in the sport today, a former Daytona 500 champion and a 21-year-old rookie that is showing a lot of savvy. You can’t beat an opportunity like this.”

The Sprint Cup Series makes its first of two stops at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the running of the Camping World RV Sales 301 on July 13. NHMS hosts the series for the second event of the Chase for the Championship on Sept. 21.

“We look at this track and know that we come back here (in September for the) Chase and we need to treat this with a little more care and attention,” Johnson said. “If you leave here with a good result, it just kind of checks one of the boxes going into the Chase that you feel like you can be competitive.”

Grandstands will be open, free of charge, for fans from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days of the test.

It will mark the first of two Sprint Cup testing sessions at the track before the Camping World RV Sales 301. The teams are Richard Childress Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing are slated to test at the track at some point during the first week of July.
