Tom Butler DQ’ed From Late Model Win At Stafford; DARE Stock Driver Brandon Michael Suspended Indefinitely

SMS-LOGO-HOME-PAGE-2012As had been expected, Stafford Motor Speedway announced Tuesday morning that Late Model driver Tom Butler has been disqualified from his victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature that was part of NAPA Auto Parts Fall Final Sunday at the track.

The pending disqualification was reported Sunday evening by RaceDayCT.

Butler, of Stafford, was disqualified for using unapproved shock absorbers. In addition to being stripped of the victory, he was also removed from the running order of the event.

Cory Casagrande of Stafford, who finished fourth in the same Late Model feature, was also disqualified for the same infraction and removed from the finishing order.

The penalties gave Adam Gray of Belchertown, Mass. the victory and moved Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. to second and Mike Scorzelli of Malta, N.Y. to third.

Stafford Motor Speedway officials also announced penalties for DARE Stock division Brandon Michael of Granville, Mass. for actions during the Paradiso & Muska Shootout for that division on Saturday.

Multiple times during the event, Michael made attempts to take out leader and eventual race winner Johnny Walker of Ludlow, Mass.

Michael was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. He was disqualified from the event and was handed an indefinite track suspension. He was also fined $250, which must be paid to the Shane Hammond Believe Foundation through the track.

  1. Brandon Michael… Don’t let the door hit you on the way out kid! People like you don’t belong in a racecar.

  2. I’m sure it’s someone else’s fault Brandon Michael got disqualified. Kid is a punk.

  3. Thanks for the support everyone!

  4. Never heard of being suspended for attempting to take someone out before??? TC did take out someone and he was sent to the back?

  5. Never have i seen TC park on the front stretch and wait for the race leaded and gun straight for him at full speed. There’s no rom for intentionally trying to harm another driver badly. especially after what has just happened in the motor racing world recently.

  6. Trying to move someone out of the way and intentionally trying to wreck someone are two different things Lauren. If tc did what Michael did than I would expect the same decision by the track. Fearn did it a few years back to posocco under caution and was suspended. Same thing with asklar against pennik, we don’t see asklar anymore now do we.

I don’t know if you know this kid but he has a crap attitude and everyone else is at fault for his failure. Typical spoiled brat mentality. Good riddance, I only hope he learns something.

  7. Maybe Brandon Michael can move down south and race at Bowman Gray Stadium – that is the kind of stuff they are looking for down there!

  8. I dont know how long you have been watching local races.. but i have seen TC in my 25yrs at the local tracks every week.. and ive watched him crash his own brother into the wall, and wait for many a guys to come around and drive right into them.

  9. it is funny that all you people mention teddy about stuff like this every time have any of you been to places like riverside park speedway or Plainville stadium and saw the stuff that has been going on for years not to mention all the other tracks even Waterford. I was not at the fall final but if what I read is true then he got what he deserved stuff like this has been going on for years why mention one persons name when there were plenty of other drivers out there that did the same thing.
