Ryan Preece Leads The Way In Whelen Modified Tour Practice At New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. – An ultra-busy weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway kicked off in the most positive way possible Friday for Ryan Preece.

Preece, of Berlin, topped the charts in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice in preparation for Saturday’s F.W. Webb 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Preece toured the 1.058-mile oval with a fast lap of 28.890 seconds (131.838 mph).

In addition to competing in the F.W. Webb 100 at NHMS, Preece is also scheduled to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut in Sunday’s Sylvania 300 at the track.

Preece, who leads the Whelen Modified Tour standings by one point over Woody Pitkat, is looking for his first career victory at NHMS.

Reigning Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby of Milford was second fastest during the one hour and 15 minute practice with a fast lap of 28.933 seconds (131.642 mph).

Bobby Santos III of Franklin, Mass. was third fastest (29.055 seconds, 131.088 mph).

Qualifying for the Whelen Modified Tour will take place late this afternoon at NHMS.

Pitkat, of Stafford, the defending champion of the F.W. Webb 100, was fifth fastest during practice at 29.126 seconds (130.770 mph).
