NE Racing Fuel Support Performer Award

Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, 14-year old Jacob Perry got to live out a dream.

The Mini Stock division rookie held off the reigning division champion over the final laps to win the 20-lap Mini Stock feature.

It was the first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series division victory for the teenager from Pawcatuck, who is the son of longtime local competitor and current Speedbowl SK Modified driver Dennis Perry.

And the celebration for Jacob Perry’s win continued through this week.

Jacob Perry won this week’s New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.

Perry collected 243 of 602 votes (40.4 percent) cast in polling for the award.

Fifteen year old Bryan Narducci of Colchester, who got his first career victory Limited Late Model victory Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway, was second in the polling with 185 votes (30.7 percent).

Teenager Zack Robinson of Putnam, winner in the DARE Stock feature at Stafford Friday, was third in the voting (64 votes, 10.6 percent).

Each week during the 2016 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Perry will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.
