More: The 15th event of the season at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. … The special mid-week show welcomes the NorthEast Race Cars Tri-Track Open Modified Series for third time to the track. The series competed twice at the Speedbowl in 2015 with Ron Silk and Woody Pitkat winning events. … Thursday’s Tri-Track event is the Ron Bouchard Memorial, in memory of the former Modified and 1981 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year from Fitchburg, Mass. who passed away last December. The event will feature a special pre-race ceremony honoring Bouchard and a number of other former local racers. … The entry list for the Tri-Track feature currently features 41 drivers. … Marks the fourth of five scheduled NorthEast Race Cars & Parts Tri-Track Open Modified Series events this year. The opener at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H. on June 11 was cancelled because of rain. Reigning Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby won the series’ event at Seeknonk (Mass.) Speedway on June 29. Matt Hirschman won the division’s event, the SMB 125, at Star Speedway in Epping, N.H. on July 30.
