Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that Casagrande Builders, Inc., of Stafford Springs, has renewed their participation in the track’s Contingency Program for the 2017 season but will change their level of involvement. Last season saw Casagrande Builders offer a $100 bonus for each SK Modified® third place finisher but for the 2017 season, they will supply a weekly $125 bonus for each SK Modified® 2nd place feature finisher. With 22 races on the 2017 calendar, Casagrande Builders’ total contribution will be $2,750 and each second place finisher will now take home $975 in winnings along with a $25 gas bonus from New England Racing Fuel for a total of $1,000.
“I think that the SK Modified® division puts on some of the best racing of any short track in the country,” said Rick Casagrande, owner of Casagrande Builders. “Over the last couple years the competition in the SK Modified® division has been taken to another level and I don’t think you’ll find any division that is more exciting. On any given night, there’s 10 or 12 cars that could win the feature and we’re looking forward to watching some more exciting racing this season and keeping track of the battles for second place to see who will win our contingency bonus.”

The first Casagrande Builders, Inc. contingency bonus of the 2017 season was up for grabs during Stafford Speedway’s 46th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Weekend and it was claimed by Ronnie Williams. Williams tried everything he could to get around leader Chase Dowling in the closing laps but Dowling was too strong to be overtaken.
