Rain Forces Cancellation At Stafford Speedway; Additional Friday Night Event Added

Chase Dowling has been the dominator of the SK Modified division action this year at Stafford Motor Speedway with three victories in seven starts.

But the truest dominator at Stafford Motor Speedway in 2017 has been Mother Nature.

Stafford Motor Speedway officials announced this morning the cancellation of tonight’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing card.

It was the fifth rainout in the past 11 weeks at Stafford Speedway.

It was announced Friday that the track will add an additional event to their schedule on Sept. 22.

Stafford returns to action next weekend with the return of the Exit Realty Modified Touring Series for the Lincoln Tech 100. It marks the second event this season at the track for the first year series.

“Rain has got us again this week,” Stafford general manager Mark Arute said in a release. “We will be adding a Friday night on the back-end of the season, Friday September 22nd, to make up at least one of these rainouts.  We’re back again next Friday with the Lincoln Tech Modified Touring Series 100, hopefully the weather cooperates.”

The Girls Night Out promotion at the track, scheduled for Friday, has been rescheduled to Aug. 18, along with the Intrepid Fallen Heroes track walk. The Senior Outlaw Kart exhibition event will be rescheduled to Aug. 11. The Junior Outlaw Kart exhibition event will be run Aug. 25.
