STAFFORD – So nice, he did it twice.

Jon McKennedy rolled to victory in the Exit Realty Modified Touring Series Lincoln Tech 100 Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It completed a season sweep for McKennedy in the series events at Stafford.

McKennedy, of Chelmsford, Mass., won in the inaugural event for the first year series at Stafford on June 2.

Friday’s victory continued a heated roll for McKennedy at Stafford Motor Speedway. He won a Valenti Modified Racing Series event at the track last September.

“It’s a pretty amazing last couple years for me,” McKennedy said. “This year it’s been well too.”

Woody Pitkat of Stafford was second and Richard Savary of Canton, Mass. third.

Tommy Barrett Jr. of Millis, Mass. and Mike Holdridge of Madison completed the top-five respectively.

McKennedy was running third behind leader Eric Goodale and second place Chris Pasteryak when caution flew on lap 31. With Goodale and Pasteryak pitting, McKennedy inherited the lead. From there he held off charges from Rowan Pennink before driving away from Pitkat in the closing laps.

Just found the finishing results on Stafford Motor Speedway’s website after searching the MTS website and facebook page and finding nothing. IMO 18 cars does not make much of a show even if the racing is good. Sure glad I did not make the trip up to pay the inflated prices due to the MTS being on-hand.

  2. McKennedy has become “the man” on the New England non-WMT mod scene. Congrats to him on another strong win.

What happened with the TC – Massey wreck? Did TC re-injure his hand/wrist?

  3. i think the MTS is a great paying tour, congrats to Mckennedy. Too bad for the fans that stafford chooses to charge $30/$50 for this event, saw videos and it looked like a lot of empty seats….

  4. Seems to only be 40 to 45 cars split between both series.

All I can say is, thank God Stafford offers a season’s pass (which even with the rainouts will pay for itself by late August.)
I find it hard to justify paying 45-50 for the pits, never mind some poor guy running a DARE car paying that for no heat races, a 15 lap feature and no bump in their purse.

  6. Unusual Friday night with MTS, MRS and ROC all running. 18 cars at Stafford is bad. It’s really bad when you consider the WMT is on another mini break before the stretch run begins Aug 4th. Even Lee had 23 last night. ROC was also at 18.

Anyone know if McKennedy is running Star next Saturday? He isn’t on entry list as of yet.

  7. Two seemingly good kids who are in a no win situation, if they do well they will be accused of cheating ,and being able to practice when ever they want which is as far from the truth as you can get,if you check you will probably find they each practiced once at beginning of year like a lot of other teams, fire and ambulance have to be there before any practice. I don’t think Rob will be back any time soon to build houses either

  8. As talented as McKennedy is, it would be interesting to see what he would do with a Race Works chassis on the WMT.

  9. According to his Twitter; Looks like he is racing the Hy-Miler for ISMA at Sandusky that night.

  10. Two kids, cheating, private practice. What the heck is that all about and how does it pertain to the MTS.
