STAFFORD – With a massive lead in the standings, Johnny Walker’s second consecutive DARE Stock championship at Stafford Motor Speedway seems just a forgone conclusion at this point.

But it doesn’t mean there’s any slowing down for the Ludlow, Mass. driver.

Walker held off the charges of Brandon Michael to win the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It was the fourth consecutive victory for Walker and his sixth victory overall this year.

Michael, of Granville, Mass., was second and George Bessette Jr. of Danbury third.

Tom Fearn went by Josh Wood for the lead on lap the second lap and then went unchallenged the rest of the way, scoring victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature.

It was the third victory of the season for Fearn, of East Longmeadow, Mass.

Michael Wray of Northford was second and Michael Bennett of Stafford third.

“It makes for a long race when you’ve got to lead the whole thing,” Fearn said. “But Michael Wray was right there with us, pressuring us most of the race. It wasn’t a runaway or a gimme or anything.”

Glen Glen Griswold held off Glenn Korner Jr. over the closing laps to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature.

It was the first victory of the season for Griswold, of Vernon.

Korner, of Canton, held on for second and Daniel Wesson of Monson, Mass. was third.

Cliff Saunders of Stafford got his second victory of the season in the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature.

Albert Saunders of Stafford was second and Duane Provost of Palmer, Mass. third.

  1. Wicker is quicker! Great job Johnny! Also great to see Fearn and Griswold taking down the wins!

  2. I just hope the track is teching this guy properly. This is ridiculous. He’s pulling top cars coming out of two then down the back stretch with clearly superior horsepower. In my view a monster horsepower advantage that just should not exist with those crate engines. And the babbling interview referring to banging and the importance of racing him clean. Please.

  3. Agreed!!

  4. He must have that new gas 200 octane

  5. If someone thinks he is not being tech’d like everyone else…guess again!!! He passes tech every week, if he wasn’t, he would be in the same spot as that other competitor that has been kicked out for the season for cheating, everyone knows all about that, it’s no secret. If you don’t like his interviews, simply don’t listen to them…please!!! Good time for you to take a potty break.

  6. geoffrey doppelgänger says

He might have an old Formula 1 Kenetic Energy Recovery System in his car… However he does have the best racing name I’ve heard in years!

  7. I said I hoped he was being teched properly and observed that he clearly had a horsepower advantage which he does. Technical inspections are not comprehensive as most people that have been involved in racing recognize. As for any observations on Walkers interview content it’s a comment section. I commented. You don’t like it, that’s fine. I don’t really care seeing as how you are not the only person in the comment universe. With regard to toilet habits I don’t get the relevance of that at all. I understand you’re whining about any negative reference to a guy you clearly support but have no idea how bathroom breaks enhance your complaining.

  8. Thank you sir

  9. I get my car inspected just like all the others. I’ve had my engine inspected, my rear end inspected, the transmission, my driveshaft, clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel weighed. Last week it was all 4 springs and all 4 shocks. Everything comes back peachy 🍑. We’re fast cause we spend endless hours in the shop looking over the car and always asking ourselves how can we improve. Weather it be clipping any excess weight or just making sure our batteries are fully charged so we don’t have to ask the alternator to suck up any horsepower to charge the battery. I have picked up tips here n there and the amount of effort we pour into the car on a weekly basis really shows. The reason you never really see me ranting on here is because I don’t have time. I’m actually taking a potty break right now but then it’s back to work so I can afford to keep my car in tip top shape.

  10. With regard to the engine, what was inspected? The time in the shop and detail is admirable. However it presumes no one else is that detail oriented. Kind of full of ourselves aren’t we.
My comment was I hoped that the 01 car was teched property. For me the horsepower advantage or at least my perception of the advantage is a point of interest. That’s not ranting. Hoping a car is inspected properly is not having a grudge. Having my comment illicit an update of the actual components inspected in general terms is informative so thanks. In an ideal world I’d like to see the top three cars in points have their engines pulled and dyno’d but that’s clearly unrealistic and who am I to even suggest such a thing.
Next time you have the time to respond after saying you are too busy to respond you might want to avoid saying you can’t do what you just did.
