Eddie MacDonald Tops American-Canadian Tour At Thompson World Series

Eddie MacDonald celebrates victory in the American-Canadian Tour feature Saturday at the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway

THOMPSON – In April, Eddie MacDonald helped kick open the gates at the Thompson Speedway Icebreaker weekend by winning his first Pro All Stars Series event at the track.

After the victory MacDonald talked about his hopes for closing the season at Thompson the same way he opened it.

Saturday at he accomplished that goal.

MacDonald, of Rowley, Mass., won the 75-lap American Canadian Tour feature at Thompson Saturday.

It was his first ACT victory at Thompson, where he also had a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory in 2005.

“It’s very special to get a win in a Late Model here,” MacDonadld said. “I’ve been wanting to do this forever. I’ve got to thank Sunoco for sponsoring this World Series.”

Woody Pitkat of Stafford was second and Jean-Francois Dery of Quebec third.

Scott Payea of Colchester, Vt. used a fifth place finish to clinch the 2017 American-Canadian Tour championship.
