THOMPSON – Well, it’s not snow.

The first NASCAR When Modified Tour practice for Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s season ending World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway proved to be an abbreviated session thanks to a light rain that began falling about a half hour after cars took the track.

Three drivers in contention for the championship topped the speed charts during the practice.

Ryan Preece was fastest of the 34 drivers that hit the track for shortened practice session.

Rowan Pennink was second fastest during the session and points leader Doug Coby, looking for his fourth consecutive series title, was third fastest.

Chase Dowling and Justin Bonsignore rounded out the top-five in practice respectively.

Check out below some views from the garage while teams waited out the weather Saturday.
