ARCHER, Fla. – He’s the man known as Money Matt for his habit of winning the biggest paying races around the Modified scene.
On Saturday
he proved himself as Momentum Matt too.
Matt Hirschman carried the positives of a strong to 2017 to the 2018 season by rolling to victory in the Kickoff To Speedweek 50 powered by Sunoco Saturday at Bronson Speedway in Archer, Fla.
Craig Lutz of Miller Place, N.Y. was second and Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y. third.
Hirschman, of Northampton, Pa., started third in the 13-car field.
He passed Lutz for the lead on lap 40 and never trailed again.
Lutz started second in the field behind pole-sitter Eric Goodale of Riverhead, N.Y.
