STAFFORD – Stafford Motor Speedway was a celebration of Modified racing  on June 8 with the running of the first Twisted Tea 80 Open Modified event at the track.

It was the first of two 80-lap Open Modified events on the scheduled at Stafford Motor Speedway this season.

At the end of the night it was Tommy Barrett Jr. celebrating victory in the event. It was also a night that saw Ronnie Williams get his first victory of the season in the SK Modified division, Tom Fearn win his fourth consecutive Late Model feature, Bryan Narducci score victory in the SK Light Modifieds, Ryan Fearn win in the Limited Late Model division and Brandon Michael top the Street Stock division.

RaceDayCT’s Fran Lawlor spent the night roaming the pits and infield to capture the sights of the night through his the lens  of his camera.

  1. I know my limitations. I’m a local yokel Stafford only fan. But how lucky are we to have racedayct, Sid’s on board camera’s, the Stafford web site including Scott Runnings completely underrated press releases and race recaps we all take for granted, these pictures, full fields and great competition in the SK’s and Lights and the list goes on.
Stunning elements of the Alexandra pic are a feminine presence with the traditionally male imagery of a fire suit and race track in the background. A spectacular early evening sky and a millennial in deep concentration looking at her phone knowing this is her last night of racing for a couple months. A pic just begging for interpretation that perhaps some really smart person could provide.
