Joe Squegila Wins Granite State Pro Stock Series Seacoast 100 At Lee USA Speedway

(Press Release from Granite State Pro Stock Series)

Twenty-six cars from 7 states started the feature this past Friday night at Lee USA Speedway for the Seacoast 100. It was a beautiful summer evening of racing capped by Joe Squeglia of Derry, NH taking the checkered flag, crossing the line with his hand in the air.

Starting seventh for the feature, the #03 of Squeglia patiently made his way through the field taking the lead at lap 55 and followed through to the checkered flag. “We pick and choose the tracks we run and the car was really good on the long run.” Squeglia said. “It’s so nice to be able to race pro stocks in our backyard, thanks to Norm Wrenn and the Lee USA Speedway staff for having us.” “We were looking forward to racing with Joey Doiron but unfortunately he got caught up in that wreck.”

Coming into the Seacoast 100, Joey Doiron of Berwick ME was the points leader. Doiron stretched out a straightaway lead on the field until he hit the turn two wall. On lap 54, the #00 of Jimmy Renfrew Jr of Candia, NH quickly went up in smoke and lost all fluids throughout turns one and two. “It was a tough end to our night and not how we anticipated it, but we will be working hard to return this car to race ready status for the next race at Hudson Sunday, July 15th ” Doiron said.

Jeremy Harclerode from Newmarket, NH started 11th in the field and drove up to second. “It was a good race, it seems like whenever we come to Lee, its either me, Jeremy Davis, or Joe Squeglia fighting for the win” Harclerode said. “The outside groove was the preferred lane for sure, I could have had something for Squeglia but I don’t know if I could have got the job done.”

The Madison CT driver Devin O’Connell secured another podium finish rounding out the top 3. O’Connell has been gaining speed and experience behind the wheel of a pro stock. “This is where I made my pro stock debut and we had a good run” O’Connell said. “We’ve been slowly getting our equipment better and I’m really happy we are running up front now, we just need to get a little bit better and try and win some of these things.”
