New London-Waterford Speedbowl Hosts Valenti Modified Racing Series On Saturday

(Press Release from Valenti Modified Racing Series)

The Valenti Modified Racing Series makes its third and final appearance at Connecticut’s New London-Waterford Speedbowl this Saturday night, with another 100-lap feature race on tap and the two drivers that finished one-two at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, ME, last weekend, set to roll into ‘The Bowl’ one-two in the point standings as they continue their battle for the 2018 series championship.

Sammy Rameau, the 16- year old driver from Westminster, MA, who has opened some eyes in modified racing this season, has an 18-point (432-414) lead over the series current champion, Anthony Nocella, of Woburn, MA. Nocella rebounded with a runner-up finish at Beech Ridge after falling from the top of the series standings due to a stretch of bad luck and mechanical troubles.
Last month, at Waterford, Keith Rocco, of Berlin, CT, wired the field picking up his first series win of 2018 and his seventh series victory. Rocco is an expected entry for Saturday’s race.

Chase Dowling, of Roxbury, CT, will again drive for Gary Casella. The Saugus MA, based team has already visited victory lane this season, in May, with Rowan Pennink.

Ron Silk, Mike Willis Jr, rookies Derek Robbie and Jacob Perry, Jeffrey Gallup, and teen driver Andrew Molleur have indicated their intention to compete.

New Hampshire driver CJ Bolton, and long-time MA driver George Sherman are expected
Connecticut’s Dave Etheridge and team driver Anthony Flannery will also compete. New Hampshire team drivers, Donnie Lashua and Dylan Rock, will make the trip.

Qualifying races begin at 4:45 PM with feature races scheduled for a 6:00 PM start.
