Varied Disciplines: Eddie MacDonald Wins Granite State Pro Stock Series Feature At Thompson

Eddie MacDonald celebrates victory in the Granite State Pro Stock Series feature Friday at the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway

THOMPSON – Eddie MacDonald isn’t quite a regular at Thompson Speedway, but he can certainly count himself as one of the most varied winners in the track’s history.

MacDonald, of Rowley, Mass., added another division to his list of successes at Thompson Speedway Friday in winning the 50-lap Granite State Pro Stock Series feature at the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing.

“It’s great to be able to come down here and get a win,” MacDonald said. “The car was really good. It was fun to drive out there.”

It was the fourth different touring division that MacDonald has gone to victory lane with at Thompson. He also has wins at the track with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, the Pro All-Stars Series and the American-Canadian Tour.

“That’s pretty cool,” MacDonald said of the success in the varied divisions.

Todd Stone of Middlebury, Vt was second and Tommy O’Sullivan of Springfield, Mass. third.

MacDonald will also be competing in Saturday’s American-Canadian Tour feature at Thompson. He goes into the season final for the ACT second in the standings, trailing Scott Payea by 26 points.

“We would love to be able to go out tomorrow and just lead the most laps and win the race,” MacDonald said. “That’s all we can do and whatever happens happens.”
