Long Island Daytona 500 Party Returning To Vineyards Golf Club In Riverhead

(Press Release from Riverhead Raceway)

After a successful 2018 debut at the Vineyards Golf Club of Riverhead the original Long Island Daytona 500 Party will return by popular demand to the scenic north shore country club Sunday February 17th, 2019 it was announced today by party organizers Stephen Halpin & Bob Finan along with Brian Slaga of the Vineyards Golf Club.

For four decades the L.I. Daytona 500 party has provided race fans a venue to enjoy the “Great American Race” among fellow racers and friends with plenty of specials and giveaways along the way.

Last year party guests watched the 500 in the bar and banquet areas of the Vineyards Golf Club with the lavish setting accompanied by a tasty gourmet buffet rivaling the kind you’d find at a wedding. “Brian Slaga and his staff went out of their way to provide us with a first class affair last year” Stephen Halpin noted, “from the top shelf service, food, drink and atmosphere it was a big hit and why we are returning”. Brian Slaga aside from his involvement with the Vineyards Golf Club has been a fixture on the Riverhead Raceway scene sponsoring several race teams through East West Marine Supply.

Among the drivers Slaga and East West Marine Supply has backed over the years is Ryan Preece of Berlin, Ct. who’ll make his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut in the JTG Motorsports entry in the Daytona 500. East West Marine Supply backed Preece when he raced for both Bill & Barbara Park at Riverhead as well Ryans’s NASCAR modified Tour effort with Eddie & Connie Partridge. “Suffice to say Ryan will have a large rooting section at the Vineyards Golf Club when the Daytona 500 goes green led by Brian Slaga” Bob Finan boasted.

Among the teams who’ve also raced under the East West Marine Supply banner include 2018 Riverhead Crate Modified champion Michael Rutkoski and impressive NASCAR Modified rookie talent CJ Lehmann. The past two seasons the East West Marine Supply “go zone”, the restart area in turn four of Riverhead Raceway has also been prominent.

Doors will open Sunday February 17th at the Vineyards Golf Club of Riverhead at 12 noon for the FOX Sports broadcast of the Daytona 500 that is set to start at 2:30 pm. Like last year there will be a $25 admission for the 500 party that includes one box in the flat screen TV pool along with the endless gourmet buffet. $4 Budweiser, Bud Light and Coors Light cans will be available or you can purchase 6 cans for the price of 5. Plenty of big screen TV’S will be available in both the bar and banquet area of the facility to enjoy the race. Tim Halpin will again be running his famed Daytona 500 pools where for $10 you get to pull two cars for the 500, last year 8 pools total were run by Tim.

In order to set-up properly for the party it is asked if you can send a Facebook private message to either Stephen Halpin, Bob Finan or Brian Slaga with the number of guests in your party it would be appreciated.

The Vineyards Golf Club of Riverhead is located at 9 Tyler Drive, Riverhead, NY 11901, their phone number is 631-740-9300.
