Maybury Material Handling Lifts Modified Contingency Program At Stafford Speedway

(Press Release from Stafford Motor Speedway)

Maybury Material Handling of East Longmeadow, MA has renewed their commitment to Stafford’s contingency program for the 2019 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season.

For the fourth consecutive year, Maybury Material Handling will supply a first place bonus of $150 to each SK Modified® feature winner and a $125 bonus to each SK Light feature winner.

Maybury President John Maybury’s roots run deep in motorsports.  Maybury Material Handling has been involved with Stafford Speedway for over 4 decades.  Maybury ran L & R Enduro races and also Late Model races as a teammate and sponsor to Wade Gagner.  Maybury and Gagner teamed up to win the Late Model Race of Champions feature at Pocono Raceway back on September 16, 1990.  Maybury has since been an active supporter in the Wild Thing Kart Series, which is promoted by Gagner.

“It’s kind of funny that my first passion with racing was Late Models,” said Maybury.  “We’ve been involved at Stafford on and off since the 80’s.  I ran some enduro races and we sponsored Wade Gagner in both the Late Model and ProStock divisions.  We had a 3-car team with Wade and I ran a few Late Model races myself with not a lot of success.  Since then, we’ve moved on to sponsor Cam McDermott when he ran SK Modifieds® and SK Lights and we’ll be sponsoring him again this season as he moves into a Tour-Type car.  Also for the 2019 season we’re looking into having some Maybury nights at the track and having some cars on display.”

Maybury’s contribution to the contingency program brings the SK Modified® feature winner’s share up to $1,800 and it takes the SK Light feature winner’s share up to $600.  Over the past three seasons, Maybury has delivered over $15,000 to SK Modified® and SK Light drivers at Stafford.

“We love Stafford Speedway and we’re happy to be supporting both of their modified divisions,” said Maybury.  “We’re very impressed with the caliber of drivers in each modified division and we enjoy when the drivers send us thank you notes.  We appreciate the drivers reaching out to us and acknowledging the contingency bonus.”

“John and his team at Maybury Material Handling have been long-time supporters of Stafford Speedway.  We’re happy to be associated with a leader in the material handling industry,” said Stafford Speedway General Manager Mark Arute.  “It’s thanks to great partners like John and Maybury Material Handling that we’re able to provide the contingency program and we appreciate their continued support.”
