Bio: Troy Talman was born into a racing family. His grandfather started racing in the 1950’s at Westboro Speedway. He passed the torch to Troy’s uncle, Tom Tagg, who raced for 22 years 1980 to 2002 in Late Models and SK Modifieds including the 1990 Thompson Speedway SK Modified track championship. Currently, Troy’s cousin, Brian Tagg, races on the ACT Late Model Tour.

Troy began racing at the age of 10 in Quarter Midgets at the Little T Speedway in Thompson, CT. He raced there from 2006-2009 capturing numerous victories. From 2010-2011, he raced Legends Cars at the Waterford Speedbowl, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Seekonk Speedway, and Unity Raceway. In 2011, Troy finished 4th in Waterford Track Points and 6th nationally in his respective division, including 2 feature wins.

After two years in Legends, Troy and his family decided to step up into open wheel modified competition.Troy Talman WMT Car Cockpit

In 2012, Troy won three SK Light Modified feature races at the Thompson Speedway en route to a 2nd place finish in Track points and won Rookie of the Year.

In 2013, Troy and his team looked for a new challenge and competed in a full season at the Stafford Motor Speedway in the SK Light Modified division. It was a successful year that included one feature win and finished 3rd in Track points.

In 2014, Talman acquired additional sponsorship to step up to the SK Modified divisions at Stafford and Thompson. However, a wrist injury in May derailed his season and had to sit out for two months. He returned to competition at the Thompson Speedway in August and had a fast racecar but, simply had no luck.

Troy made his NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour debut on October 19 at the Thompson Speedway driving the legendary Boehler #3 Modified.
