Frank Ruocco DQ’ed From 3rd Place SK Mod Finish At Stafford; Sean Foster Gets Career Best Finish

Frank Ruocco of Cheshire was disqualified from his third place finish in the second Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Ruocco refused to go through post-race tech inspection following his third place run in the 75-lap event.

Stafford had two 75-lap events for the SK Modifieds Friday, part of CarQuest SK Modified 150 night.

The disqualification moved Sean Foster of Willington to third place, marking his best career finish in the division. Keith Rocco won the event and Danny Cates was second.

Foster’s best finish before gaining the podium finish Friday was a fourth place in the 100-lap SK Modified event on June 29 at Stafford.

Foster was actually running third in the first 75-lap feature Friday night, but got caught up in a wreck late in the event when then leader Ryan Preece and Ruocco, running second, made contact on a restart.

Stafford Motor Speedway officials are expected to officially announce Ruocco’s disqualification on Monday.
