STAFFORD – Justin Bonsignore led the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour parade at Stafford Motor Speedway for practice Saturday afternoon.
Bonsignore, of Holtsville, N.Y., toured the half-mile oval at Stafford in 18.375 seconds (97.959 mph).
Jimmy Blewett of Howell, N.H. was second fastest in the 1-hour practice session at 18.391 seconds (97.874 mph).
Woody Pitkat of Stafford, making his second start since rejoining the Hill Enterprises team, was third fastest at 18.397 seconds (97.842 mph). Eric Beers of Northampton, Pa. matched Pitkat’s speed.
Ron Yuhas Jr. of Groton was fifth fastest (18.400 seconds, 97.826 mph).
Series points leader Doug Coby, looking to complete a season sweep of all four events this year at Stafford, was eighth fastest in practice.
