The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Rookie of the Year chase is back on for Wallingford’s Keith Rocco.

On Monday Rocco was off the entry list for this weekend’s Modified Tour CarQuest Fall Final 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Now he’s back on the list.

Rocco has been added to the entry list driving the No. 11 car. Rocco is a driving a backup Eric Berndt car from Robert Katon Jr.’s stable and the team is using John Lukosavages’s No. 11 owner points.

Rocco began the season driving the Boehler Racing Enterprises No. 3. He has been off the Tour since suffering a dislocated left wrist in an SK Modified crash at Thompson International Speedway on July 29.

Ted Christopher replaced Rocco behind the wheel of the BRE No. 3 ride. The organization had expected to field Rocco in a backup car for the final two events of the season – Sunday’s Fall Final and the Oct. 14 event at Thompson – but that plan fell through after BRE primary car was involved in a nasty wreck Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Rocco needs eight starts to claim the series Rookie of the Year title. He currently has six.
