NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Heading To Riverhead Raceway Twice In 2013

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will be making a pair of island excursions in 2013. Long Island that is.

Sources close to NASCAR have confirmed that the sanctioning body will announce that the series will make two appearances at Riverhead Raceway in Riverhead, N.Y. next season.

The Whelen Modified Tour has competed once a year at the track annually since 2006. Before 2006 the series traditionally ran two events each year at Riverhead.

In 2013 the series is expected to run on June 29 and Sept. 14 at the quarter-mile bullring.

NASCAR is expected to announce the 2013 Whelen Modified Tour schedule in the coming days.

  1. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! I will definitely be making the trip to both!

  2. Does that mean theyre not doing thompson

  3. Cady Brook Raceway says

they already announced 3 tour dates for Thompson in 2013

  4. James Schaefer says

Will both races be the Flash Type, with reduced purse? As for Thompson, they announced 3 dates, but the World Series / Showdown weekend was not included. If they run that race, most likely it will be the week before (Sept 8 weekend)- Labor Day weekend is the Sept 1 weekend, real early this year.

  5. James Schaefer says

If anyone wants to sponsor a lap for the Riverhead Tour race, please send me a message.
