STAFFORD – JJ Hill made the best starting spot in the field work perfectly Sunday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Hill, of Stafford, started on the pole and never saw another car in front of him all day as he raced away to an easy victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature Sunday at the Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway.
Woody Pitkat of Stafford was a distant second and Jay Stuart of Preston third.
“You don’t want to waste that starting position,” Hill said. “At the end of that race, with Woody coming for you, hard not to look in the mirror and hard not to let him get to your bumper because you know he’s going for the win.”
It was the fourth career Late Model victory at Stafford for Hill.
“I can’t thank my guys enough,” Hill said. “Crazy winter, hard work, good to get this car back to victory lane.”
