As the track has traditionally done annually the weekend of Sailfest in New London, the Waterford Speedbowl will not hold NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing card on July 13.
But that doesn’t mean it will be a weekend without racing at the shoreline oval.
Instead, the Speedbowl will be hosting some Friday night stock racing action with a unique open show at the track on July 12.
The Speedbowl will host its first Little Guys 200 presented by Belltown Tire and Auto Center on July 12.
The event will feature 200 laps of racing that will include 50-lap open competition Street Stock and Mini Stock division events that will each pay $1,000 to win.
The Legend cars will run a $500 to win 50-lap feature and the X-Cars will also have a $500 to win 50-lap race.
Practice will begin at 4 p.m, qualifying at 6 p.m. and feature racing at 7 p.m. For more information check out the Waterford Speedbowl website.
