Bobby Santos III Tops Speed Charts In Whelen Modified Tour Practice At Stafford

STAFFORD – Bobby Santos III has owned victory lane in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour action at Stafford Motor Speedway of late.

Early Friday he looked ready to keep the streak going.

Santos, of Franklin, Mass., led the way in Whelen Modified Tour practice Friday afternoon in preparation for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 tonight at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Santos has a fast lap of 18.400 seconds (97.826 mph) around the half-mile oval.

Rowan Pennink, who shares the series points lead with Ryan Preece after two events this year, was second fastest. The Huntingdon Valley, Pa. driver had a fast lap of 18.406 seconds (97.794 mph).

Jimmy Blewett of Howell, N.J. was third fastest (18.414 seconds, 19.752 mph).

Ron Silk of Norwalk was fourth fastest (18.416 seconds, 97.741 mph) during the one hour session and Todd Szegedy of Ridgefield fifth fastest (18.441 seconds, 97.609 mph).
