Waterford Notes: Ryan Waterman Proves Showstopper In Street Stocks

WATERFORD – Ryan Waterman came off turn four on the final lap of the Street Stock race Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl and decided it was time to play showman.

With his car pointed toward the checkered flag, Waterman got his car sideways coming off the final corner to give fans a little drifting display as he drove to victory in the 25-lap Street Stock feature at Waterford.

Waterman, of Danielson, insisted it was all by design.

“At that point I said ‘This is my race’ so I wanted to do a little something,” Waterman said. “I did that on purpose. … I wanted to something cool.”

Al Stone III of Durham was second and Corey Hutchings of Salem third.

Wayne Shifflett of Preston won the 20-lap X-Car race. Larry Loomis of Moosup was second and Chris Thomas of Waterford third.
