“I was planning to come back for the last three races, but my daughter was doing so well, I couldn’t break my concentration on her to concentrate on myself,” Vasseur said. “I couldn’t be selfish. I had to devote all my attention to Nicole.”

“I was out of racing for a little bit. The Kopecs and Rory West and all the people that help my daughter go fast made me want to get back behind the wheel and do a little driving.”

Vasseur began his racing career in 1992 and has features wins at Riverside, Stafford and Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H.

“I think I have a realistic shot to make the Top 10, Vasseur said of the Sunday’s feature at Stafford. “I have the car and the team. I just need a few breaks.
