Riverhead Raceway Moves “Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77” Back To Aug. 7; Other Schedule Adjustments Announced

(Press Release from Riverhead Raceway)

Much like fielding a race car operating a short track often finds teams having to make changes on the fly to find the right set up. Such was the case for Riverhead Raceway management team who on Tuesday announced adjustments to their 2021 schedule for late July and the first week of August. Chief among those changes is moving back the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 one week to Saturday August 7th. The 77 is the second race of the 2021 in Crown Jewel Series for the Ted Christopher Cup.

“Several unforeseen factors came into play recently” Bob Finan of the Riverhead Raceway PR department revealed, “it was not just one issue logistically that came into play leaving little choice but to make these changes” Not lost on track management is the fact that teams often make plans for their off nights during a season when the schedule is released which Bob addressed, “we fully understand those concerns. If we could have avoided making these changes over a month into the season we would have but a couple of curve balls were thrown our way and we needed to adjust”.

With the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 now set for Saturday evening August 7th two additional adjustments were made to the 2021 Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified slate. Rather than having Saturday July 24th off the Mods will instead compete in a 50-lapper as part of the Paul McElearney Memorial 60 for the Late Models with their off night now July 31st.

The KSR Motorsports Monster Truck spectacular will headline the Saturday July 31st program one week later than originally planned.

The Mini Stock event scheduled for Saturday July 24th will move back a week to July 31st.

The third and final leg of the Street Stock Miller Lite Triple Crown Series moves back a week to Saturday July 31st with the 2021 MLTCS champion celebrated in victory lane.

The annual Cromarty Wall of Champion induction ceremony originally set for July 31st moves back to Labor Day weekend on September 4th.

With moving the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 to August 7th the 2021 Crown Jewel Series for the Ted Christopher Cup starts with the 71st Year Celebration 71 on July 3rd, the 77 on August 7th, The Bubba 100 on August 28th and culminate with the Islip 300 on Saturday afternoon November 13th.
