Christopher ended that streak with his first SK Modified victory at the track since 2004 on May 16. Now it seems the Plainville driver wants to make sure there’s no more lengthy times away from victory lane at the track.
Christopher won the 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
Rob Janovic Jr. of Waterford was second and Diego Monahan of Quaker Hill third.
It was Christopher’s fourth victory of the season at Waterford and was a positive way to end the day for Christopher who had a bad day in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event Saturday afternoon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Christopher was running near the front of the field just after the midway point at New Hampshire Motor Speedway when he got caught up in massive chain reaction crash that collected five of the front runners in the event.
Keith Rocco, who also competed in the Whelen Modified Tour event in New Hampshire, won the 30-lap Late Model feature at Waterford. Christopher Garside of Waterford was second and Jason Palmer of Berlin third.
After missing the last event at Waterford on July 4 because of a hospital stay, Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon returned to the track to win the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Brandon Plemons of Uncasville won the 25-lap Limited Sportsman feature.
Great job by Doug, Chris, Bear, Pete, and everyone on the 13 team…and of course Teddy! All the pieces seem to be in place, this team is getting stronger each week.

Congrats to Ted and crew,job well done.Gentleman Rob Janovic was very gracious post-race with his acknowledement of Paul Kusheba who moments earlier was bashing the heck out of him as he secured the lead.Bum call on Ed Puleo.Ed got into the action fairly but was sent to the rear.Ed had a Hot Rod last night.It was nice to hear the excitement regarding the Tri-Track Series visit to the Speedbowl.Dick Williams and his cronies have raised a purse of over 50,000.00 so far with more to come(amazing).This could be the largest Modified event in recent memory.Great night at a great track!
How did this team turn things around? is that a different car from previous seasons?
TC’s car? yeah, they used to run a home made chassis last year. this year they swapped to a new troyer. Puleo dropped the cd car and went spafco this year.
I thought rocco showed great restraint with dudly diego do nothing monahan.. bush league move almost wrecking the 88.. blocked again.. i think what goes around comes around.. as monahan keeps saying “keith is a friend of mine” hate to see how you race your enimies.. tc earned that win and kusheba drove back thru the field and ran outta time ..getting very racy at the bowl with the exception of the 78 ..good show but could have done without outside introductions …
Good SK race unfortunate they tore up a few cars. Good to see a few new cars in the mix like the 25 with the Galko kid he’s a underated up an coming shoe IMO.
It’s a shame that Shawn is not reporting on that tri track series. The guy that is from that other site needs to take some sort of writing courses. As good as the last points race will be for the tri track in September, from what I’ve been hearing, the race they are going to have in October is going to be even bigger. Not just for the mods either. $5000 purse for the legends with $2000 to win is a pretty big deal for them. The purse for the mods could be the biggest around maybe?
