WATERFORD – Brad Caddick came to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl Saturday with a car he didn’t think was quite ready to make a run for victory.

By the end of the night though the Wyoming, R.I. driver had found the sweet spot with his Mini Stock ride.

Caddick led every lap on the way to victory in the 25-lap Mini Stock feature Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speebdowl.

It was the first victory of the season for Caddick.

Charles Canfield of East Haven was second and Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon third.

“Hard work and dedication,” Caddick said. “This thing had no struts, no shocks in it this morning. At 2:30 this afternoon we drove in, we got here. The thing was so tight. We just made the adjustments that worked.”

Caddick dedicated the victory to his mother, who was visiting from her home in Florida and in victory late to celebrate.

“This one is dedicated to my mom,” Caddick said. “I miss her all the time. Next week, win No. 2 while she’s here if we can get it.”

Chris Meyer of Norwich passed Brandon Plemons for the lead coming to the white flag and held on to win the 25-lap Limited Sportsman feature.

Monty Gibbs of Killingworth was second and Plemons, of Uncasville, third.

Jason Palmer of Berlin drove away with victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature. Vin Esposito of Seymour was second and Joe Curioso of Mystic third.

It was the third victory of the season for Palmer.

Paul Buzel of Trumbull went to the lead at the start and led every lap on the way to victory in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature.

Corey Barry of Plainfield was second and Tyler Hines of North Haven third.
