WATERFORD – Paul French’s fairy tale story of destruction to celebration came crashing down for the Andover driver in post-race inspection Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

Speedbowl officials disqualified French from his victory in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

French, who led every lap of the event, was disqualified for illegal transmission.

The disqualification gave second place finisher Josh Galvin of Oakdale the victory in the event.

It marked the first career SK Light Modified victory for Galvin, who is in his first year in the division.

Corey Barry of Plainfield was moved to second and David Arute to third, a career best finish in the division for the Tolland driver.
