Mike Christopher Returning To Whelen Modified Tour Action At New Hampshire Motor Speedway

There will be two Christopher brothers chasing victory in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour action on July 14 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Mike Christopher confirmed he will be heading to Loudon, N.H. to attempt to make the Town Fair Tire 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next month in a car he owns.

Mike Christopher is the identical twin brother of 2008 Whelen Modified Tour champion

“I’m excited,” Mike Christopher said. “It’s an all new piece, it’s going to be good.”

He said he is hoping to get it on the track for some practice within the next two weeks at the Waterford Speedbowl.

“Just want to get it out there and see how it goes and make sure everything is good on it. It should be all good.”

Mike Christopher has made 73 starts on the Whelen Modified Tour dating back to 1994 with five top-five finishes and 14 top-10’s. His last four starts in the series have come at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, with two shows at the track in 2007 and race at NHMS in 2009 and in 2010.

Mike Christopher’s best career finish in a Whelen Modified Tour event at NHMS was second, a feat he has accomplished twice. On July 23, 2004 at NHMS, he came in second to his twin brother Ted after the two battled at the front for much of the event. Mike Christopher also finished second on July 7, 2000 to the late John Blewett at NHMS.
