Competitor Returning This Year From Suspension Arrested Thursday At Thompson Speedway

Thompson International Speedway Mini Stock division driver Trevor Michalski, who returned to the track this season after serving a suspension dating back to 2010 for assaulting another competitor at the track, was arrested Thursday during the weekly racing card in Thompson.

Connecticut State Police at Troop D in Danielson confirmed that the 19-year old Michalski was arrested at Thompson on breach of peace charges.

State police could not release the police report at this time or any further details concerning the arrest.

Multiple witnesses said Michalski was involved in some sort of altercation with fellow Mini Stock driver Mike Gorgievski of Auburn, Mass. following a Mini Stock division heat race Thursday and that State Police got involved at the scene.

Gorgievski was also charged with breach of peace.

Michalski, of Killingly, was part of a group of competitors suspended indefinitely from the track by NASCAR for being involved in a group attack on Mini Stock division competitor Rick Blanchard at the track on Aug. 19, 2010.

The indefinite suspensions against Michalski and his father and fellow Mini Stock division driver Scott Michalski, were lifted prior to the start of this season.
