Frequent Flyer: Ted Christopher Makes It Back To Stafford For SK Mod Win Friday

Ted Christopher took a helicopter to Stafford Motor Speedway Friday night and then flew himself to victory lane.

After practicing and qualifying in preparation for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Town Fair Tire 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, Christopher, of Plainville, went South to win the 42-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature at Stafford.

It was the 97th career SK Modified victory at Stafford for Christopher, the track’s all-time winningest driver with 117 wins overall.

Keith Rocco of Wallingford, who was also qualifying Friday at NHMS, was second. Todd Owen of Somers was third.

Christopher went by Owen to take the lead for good on a lap 39 restart.

Woody Pitkat of Stafford won the 32 lap Late Model feature. Mark St. Hilaire of Berlin was second and Patrick Townsend of Springfield, Mass. third.

Dylan Kopec of Palmer, Mass. topped the field in the 22-lap SK Light Modified feature. Tony Membrino Jr. of Plantsville was second and Ronnie Williams of Tolland third.

Dennis Botticello of Suffield won the 22-lap Limited Late Model feature. Duane Provost of Springfield was second and Cory Casagrande of Stafford third.

Albert Saunders won the 16-lap DARE Stock feature. Austin Bessette of Stafford was second and Johnny Walker of Ludlow, Mass. third.
