A rough shift at the day job turned into a very good evening on the night shift for Keith Rocco Saturday.
Keith Rocco saw his chances of winning Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Town Fair Tire 100 dashed early by a frontstretch crash, but a trip back to Connecticut helped make things a little better.
Rocco won both the 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature and the 30-lap Late Model feature Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl.
Rocco, of Wallingford, held off his twin brother Jeff on three restarts to win the SK Modified feature.
It was his sixth victory of the season in the division. Jeff Rocco, of Wallingford, held on for second and Rob Janovic Jr. of Waterford was third. Janovic moved past Jeff Pearl to take over the lead in the division standings.
In the Late Model feature, Keith Rocco took the lead on lap six from Ed Gertsch Jr. and never trailed again. Bruce Thomas Jr. of Groton was second and Anthony Flannery of East Hampton third.
Josh Galvin of Franklin got his second win of the season in the 25-lap Street Stock feature. Walt Hovey of Chaplin was second and Chris Meyer of North Franklin third.
Mark Panaroni of Ivoryton was dominate on the way to a win in the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon was second and Ian Brew of Wood River Junction, R.I. third.
