Waterford Speedbowl Card Falls Victim To Weather

Usually Nostalgia Night at the Waterford Speedbowl means an evening of memories flooding back of old time racing in New England.

Saturday Nostalgia Night was just about flooding at the Waterford Speedbowl.

The Waterford Speedbowl’s Whelen All-American Series Racing card and the Shane Hammond Memorial events for the Northeastern Midget Association along with the track’s Nostalgia Night were all washed away Saturday by a late afternoon deluge.

Practice that had been run under ever darkening skies came to a screeching halt not long after 4 p.m. when the skies opened up with flooding rains.

There was no word as of Saturday evening when the 37-lap Shane Hammond Memorial events for the NEMA cars and NEMA Lite cars will be made up.
