Derek Ramstrom Rolls To Super Late Model Victory At Thompson Speedway

THOMPSON – Derek Ramstrom warmed up for his Stafford Motor Speedway debut this weekend by returning to domination at his home track Thursday.

Ramstrom, of West Boylston, Mass., led every lap on the way to victory in the 50-lap Super Late Model feature Thursday at Thompson International Speedway.

It was the second victory in four races this season for the track’s part-time Super Late Model division. Ramstrom also won the Pro All Stars Series North division event at Thompson in July.

Mike O’Sullivan of Springfield, Mass. was second and Jim Banfield of Glastonbury third.

“I was really just trying to be patient,” Ramstrom said. “I was just trying to keep the car under me and not beat it up too much.”

Ramstrom competes full-time in the PASS North. The division wil make its Stafford Speedway debut on Sunday.

“We actually tested last week with our PASS car at Stafford and it was phenomenal,” Ramstrom said. “Hopefully we can continue the luck from here and maybe get two wins in one week.”
