Riding the high of another NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway, Doug Coby will head to the Waterford Speedbowl today looking for a win in an SK Modified.
And Coby, of Milford, will do it in one of the track’s best rides.
Coby will compete in tonight’s 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified in the car owned and normally driven by Keith Rocco.
Rocco, of Wallingford, is sidelined because of a wrist injury sustained in a practice crash at Thompson International Speedway on Sunday. He had surgery to repair the wrist on Friday.
Rocco, who owns his own SK Modified team at the Speedbowl, has five victories in the car this season at the shoreline oval.
Coby is currently the points leader on the Whelen Modified Tour with four victories in seven events this season.
