Fundraiser Upcoming In Memory Of Late Racer Jay Miller

It’s been a little over four years since the local racing community tragically lost one of its most shining lights.

Former Stafford Motor Speedway and Waterford Speedbowl regular Jay Miller of East Granby, one of the most gregarious racers that could be found any weekend in the pits at local short tracks, died on July 15 2008.

Jay, the son of legendary Modified racer Ray Miller, was 35 at the time of his death.

In October, friends of Miller will participate in a fundraiser at UConn in his memory

The #09 Team Miller group will participate in the Out of the Darkness Community walk on Oct. 20 at the UConn campus in Storrs to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

A web page has been established for anyone wanting to donate on behalf of the #09 Team Miller group that will participate in memory of Miller.
