Giddy Up: Jesse Gleason Trots To Third Limited Sportsman Victory Of 2012 At Thompson Speedway

THOMPSON – Some drivers like having the horses under the hood, Jesse Gleason just enjoyed riding a stallion Thursday at Thompson International Speedway.

Gleason survived some early mayhem and then drove away in the late stages to win the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature Thursday at Thompson International Speedway.

It was the second win in the last three events for Gleason, of Lisbon, and his third win overall this year.

Larry Barnett of Moosup was a distant second and Mark Jenison of Warwick, R.I. third.

Gleason deftly knifed his way through a treacherous four-wide inceident on the second lap, threading the needle through the mess to move to fourth.

He then went from fourth to second on a lap two restart, then drove by Lloyd Anderson Jr. for the lead on lap three.

From there Gleason easily rolled away from the field.

“This car was an absolute stallion tonight,” Gleason said. “It should be owned by a Middle Eastern sheik, not by Gleason Brothers Racing. It was phenomenal.”
