On Tap: Tours, Tours Everywhere

If you’re looking for a Touring division a racing card at a Connecticut short track this weekend you won’t have to look far.

All three tracks will be hosting Touring divisions on their schedules this weekend, showcased by the return of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour to the area.

The Modified Tour will make two stops in a 7-day span in state coming up. The first stop comes Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway when the division returns for the third time this year.

The Tour comes right back to Connecticut next Thursday with an event at Thompson International Speedway.

But before get all ahead of ourselves looking ahead to next week, let’s take a look at what’s on tap around here this weekend.

Thursday

What: New England Truck Series and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Racing

Where: Thompson International Speedway

Schedule: 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 25-lap Late Models, 20-lap SK Light Modifieds, 20-lap Limited Sportsman, 20-lap Thompson Modified, 15-lap Mini Stock and New England Truck Series.

Friday

What: NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour CarQuest and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Racing

Where: Stafford Motor Speedway

Schedule: Whelen Modified Tour Stafford 150, 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 30-lap Late Model, 20-lap SK Light Modified, 20-lap Limited Late Model and 15-lap DARE Stock.

Info: The third event this season for the Whelen Modified Tour at Stafford. Series points leader Doug Coby has won both events at the track in 2012. For more information check the Stafford Speedway website.

Saturday

What: Four Cylinder Fury and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Racing

Where: The Waterford Speedbowl

Schedule: 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 30-lap Late Model, 25-lap Street Stock, 50-lap Mini Stock, 50-lap Northeast Mini Stock Tour, 25-lap Pro Four Modifieds and 20-lap X-Cars.
