The busiest racing weekend on the local schedule just got busier.
The Valenti Modified Racing Series announced Tuesday that they will add an event to their 2012 schedule which will be part of the World Series of Speedway Racing weekend at Thompson International Speedway Oct. 12-14.
The Valenti Modified Racing Series will run a 75-lap event at Thompson as part of the Saturday Oct. 13 portion of the World Series racing card.
It will mean touring Modified divisions on back-to-back days as part of the season ending card at Thompson. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour holds its season finale event at the World Series on Oct. 14.
It means the Valenti Modified Racing Series will hold four of their last six events this season at Connecticut tracks. The division will race at Stafford Motor Speedway this Friday and on Sept. 14. They will run at the Waterford Speedbowl on Sept. 8. In addition, the series has events remaining at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway on Oct. 6 and at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H. on Oct. 21.
