On Tap: A Touring Weekend All Around For Modifieds In Connecticut

It will be Modified Touring division events as far as the eye can see this weekend in Connecticut.

Thompson International Speedway hosts both the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour at the UNOH Showdown Friday and Saturday at the track.

Each division will run a 75-lap points feature before a 50-lap non-points Showdown is set up between the top runners in each event.

Qualifying is Saturday at Thompson with features set for Sunday.

Saturday night the Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to the Waterford Speedbowl for 100-lap feature event.

Friday

What: NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Racing card

Where: Stafford Motor Speedway

Schedule: 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 30-lap Late Model, 20-lap SK Light Modified, 15-lap Limited Late Model (1), 20-lap Limited Late Model (2) and 15-lap DARE Stock.

Info: The Limited Late Model division gets its weather delayed double duty action in. The division will run a 15-lap feature and a 20-lap feature. For more information check the Stafford Speedway website.

Saturday and Sunday

What: Whelen Modified Tour UNOH Showdown

Where: Thompson International Speedway

Schedule: 75-lap NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, 75-lap NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, 50-lap Whelen Modified Tours Combined UNOH Showdown, 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 25-lap Late Model, 20-Limited Sportsman, 20-lap SK Light Modified, 20-lap Thompson Modified and 15-lap Mini Stock.

Info: The big money is on the line as the North and South Whelen Modified Tours battle head-to-head in the UNOH Showdown. Doug Coby, Whelen Modified Tour points leader, won both the Whelen Modified Tour portion of the event last year along with the UNOH Showdown.
