The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut will hold its 2012 fall fundraising kickoff event Wednesday at the Waterford Speedbowl, with a special guest on hand to celebrate the event.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver David Starr will be at the Waterford Speedbowl along with the No. 81 Toyota Tundra he campaigns with on the series for the track’s weekly Wacky Wednesday event.
Starr will be on hand to speak and sign autographs for campaign kickoff attendees along with Speedbowl patrons.
Grandstands open at the Speedbowl at 5:30 p.m.
The Speedbowl and United Way of Southeastern Connecticut encourage race fans to bring canned tuna and peanut butter with them to the track. A collection bin will be located on the Speedbowl midway at the main entrance, with all donated items going to the United Way’s food center, benefitting those in need.
