The North country beckons.
After a trip to Thompson International Speedway for Thursday’s special card, including a Pro All Stars Series North event and a visit to the track by NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, we’ll be pointing the RaceDayCT sponsored Camry (we had a top-five car all day) toward the Granite State.
Loudon calls, it’s time for a visit back North to New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
It’s another bustling weekend on tap in Loudon, with a menu that includes the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series and even some rally car action.
But it doesn’t mean anything shuts down this weekend in these parts. So let’s take a look and what’s going on around the state racing scene and beyond.
Thursday
What: Pro All Stars Series North, Whelen All-American Series
Where: Thompson International Speedway
Schedule: 75-lap Pro All Stars Series North, 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 25-lap Late Models, 20-lap SK Light Modifieds, 20-lap Limited Sportsman, 20-lap Thompson Modified and 15-lap Mini Stock

Friday
What: Mobil 1 Night Five Star Series Mid-Season Stretch
Where: Stafford Motor Speedway
Schedule: 42-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 32-lap Late Model, 22-lap SK Light Modified, 22-lap Limited Late Model and 16-lap DARE Stock.
Info: Extra distance events for each division at the track Friday night. After qualifying his Whelen Modified Tour car Friday afternoon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Keith Rocco goes looking for his third consecutive SK Modified victory at Stafford Friday night. What: NASCAR Whelen All-American Series And Legends National Qualifier
Where: The Waterford Speedbowl
Schedule: 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 30-lap Late Model, 25-lap Street Stock, 25-lap Mini Stock, 50-lap Legends and 20-lap Bandaleros

Saturday: Whelen Modified Tour Town Fair Tire 100 (1 p.m.), Nationwide Series F.W. Webb 200 (3:30 p.m.), Global Rally Cross main event, 7 p.m.; Nationwide Series qualifying (10:05 a.m.); Sprint Cup and Whelen Modified Tour practice.
Sunday: Sprint Cup Series Lenox Industrial Tools 301 (1 p.m.).
